Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Ricker's Kinderkamp located?
Our address is 511 Lindell Ave in Leominster, Massachusetts. We are found on the west side of Leominster.
How much does camp cost?
Early Registration Special: Sign up before May 10th and the weekly cost of camp per child is $260. When registering, please pay a $130 deposit (for each child for each week you wish to send them to camp) to secure a spot. The resulting balance due each week is $130.
After May 10th, the weekly cost of camp per child is $280. When registering, please pay a $140 deposit (for each child for each week you wish to send them to camp) to secure a spot. The resulting balance due each week is $140.
How does the deposit work and is it refundable?
The deposit secures your child(ren)'s spot in each of their desired weeks. We know summer schedules change for vacations and sports camps. We would be happy to return your deposit if you let us know about a change before June 1. After June 1, deposits are non-refundable as it has been hard to find campers to fill the spot once the summer begins.
When does camp begin?

July 1 - 5 (No camp Thursday, July 4)
July 8 - 12
July 15 - 19

What forms do I need to send in?
First download the document "Camp Forms" (see Forms). You will get 6 pages - the first two have general camp info, then the next 4 are the registration form, contact information form, sunscreen form, and the apparel order form. Fill out and send us the registration form, contact information form, your child's latest physical form (within 1 year) including immunizations, a copy of your child's health insurance card, the sunscreen form, and the apparel order form (if interested), along with your deposit.
We need ALL of the paperwork in order to hold your spot.
What time is drop off/pick up?
Camp starts at 9:00, you can drop off your child(ren) between 8:30 and 9:00. Extended day is available beginning at 7:30. There is an additional $10 cost (per family) each time extended day is used. Extended day is flexible, you do not need to sign up ahead of time, just use it as needed.
Camp ends at 4:00, but we do allow the campers one last optional swim that goes from 4:00-4:20 (dressed and ready to go about 4:30). Depending on whether your child likes to take that swim or not, pick up is between 4:00 and 4:45. Again extended day is available and runs from 4:45 to 5:30. Extended day costs $10 each time it is used per family. While it is not necessary to let us know ahead of time, if we know you are coming late for pick up, we often let those children fish or boat longer or take another swim if we know they will be here later.
How does extended day work?
We offer an extended day both in the morning from 7:30 to 8:30 and in the afternoon from 4:45 to 5:30. This is an additional cost of $10 (per family) each time extended day is used. We are very flexible when it comes to using extended day, it is there when/if you need it and you do not need to set up a schedule or let us know ahead of time. In the afternoon though, it is helpful to know if you are coming late for pick up as we often let those children fish or boat longer and they sometimes get to go back into the water for a another swim if we know they will be here later. Just let us know when you drop them off or call during the day if you know you will be late.
What should I pack in my child's bag?
The most important thing to send your child with is sneakers!!! Most of our games involve running and flip flops are a hazard. Pack your child a lunch, with plenty of liquids, and an afternoon snack. If you pack a water bottle, we would be happy to refill it in the house if they finish their drinks. Campers should bring a bottle of sunscreen, labeled with their name. Please send a sweatshirt or rain coat every day in case of rain. We try to stay outside to play when it is just light rain, but children without coats will have to stay indoors and miss the fun.
Please don't send toys or anything of value such as iPods, cell phones, or other electronics.
Is there a camp open house?
No. Ley and Cathy live on the property, are available most weekends, and would be happy to show you the property if you are interested. Call or email to set up a time. The property doesn't really look like camp until June, as we have to wait until the weather warms up to get the docks in the water. If possible, it is best to wait until June to see what it will look like during camp.
